Rooted in Tradition: The Story Behind Radici

Some restaurants are born from business plans. Radici was born from a step stool, a small kitchen, and a mother's hands shaping pasta dough.

Laura Francisco's journey to opening her Hermosa Beach Italian restaurant is one of heritage, sacrifice, and love. Raised by immigrant parents from the Abruzzo region of Italy, Laura grew up surrounded by the aromas of homemade sauces and fresh, simple cooking — a tradition passed down from her grandmother to her mother, Lucia, and eventually to her. When her children left home and she found herself ready for a new chapter, that lifelong dream of sharing her family's food with the world finally took shape.

Opened in 2017, Radici (Italian for "roots") is Laura's tribute to her parents, their immigrant grit, their restaurant legacy, and the recipes her mother still guards closely to this day.
